China Visa for Expat English teachers in Korea

My girlfriend and I will be travelling to China from India via thailand and Loas. We are just finishing our teaching contracts in South Korea. There is a policy here with the Chinese embassy that you cannot get a tourist visa for china if you have less than six months left on you South Korean work visa. I have been informed that it is easier to get a visa if you have been before. My girlfriend has not been to china before, will it be possible to get her a Chinese visa in India, Thailand or Loas, even though we have the South Korean work visa in our passport? Does anyone who taught in Korea have any experience with this?

You can try to fly down to Hong Kong / Macau and get a visa there.

Yes, it is fairly easy to obtain a Chinese visa in Thailand or Laos.

I think they will be more relaxed or totally unaware of this rule outside S Korea.
