Travelling Around South America

Hello! I'm planning to travel around South America leaving the UK in September, I would really appreciate some advice and guidance about travelling around the continent. For instance, is it more cost effective to book this before I leave or to organise when I'm there? What is the best form of transport to use within SA and does anyone have a route that they could recommend? I would love some honest advice from people who have been as on the web it all seems to be sponsored articles from tour operators so I'm not sure how reliable it is.

Hello, i am on Mexico so if u what to visit my country let know..probably i will go to colombia because i am from there...take care =)

Transport varies across the continent but there are some resources that can help if you know where you want to go, these three seem to be okay:

That second one may also give you some ideas about where you might want to go too if you're undecided.

Typically you can expect to pay a premium if you book your travel plans ahead of time from home as there is often a middleman involved.

A good example is airfares in Argentina - If I book a flight from BA to Ushuaia from home the cost ends up being between $600-800, when I book it in BA it's from $80-140.

however, its not always that dramatic, and if you don't have a lot of time, it might be worth it to pay a premium to be able to go exactly when you want to go.
