Being an air courier

Hi All,

It doesn't matter what anyone "thinks," the only issue is facts. With rare and very specific exceptions Air Couriers are a thing of the past have been for years.

What planet are you living on?

Cheers,
Terry

Is the last sentence necessary Terry? It's a fact that this tends to be your way of communicating every now and then towards people asking questions. If you don't answer a question, just don't react at all. Speaking is silver...silence is....

Terry,

I am sorry that my educational question upset you because I'm new to the travel world and didn't know that Air Couriers were obsolete. Since I don't want to annoy anyone on this forum with questions I will just delete my profile/account and go to a more understanding forum.

Have a nice day!

Joanna

Congratulations terry, another person you have scared away. I said ages ago that the "travel guru" designation should be scrapped, it gives those with the label the idea that they know it all and can be rude to everyone else, and it gives the people who ask questions the wrong idea that "travel gurus" actually know what they are talking about.

Joanna, in answer to your question, My opinion would be that I don' t think air fares are any more expensive these days, in fact given inflation Id say they are cheaper. But with terrorists threats, there is so much more security that giving people parcels and using their baggage allowance for others to use is pretty much out of the question. Plus the advance in dedicated door to door world wide freight services such as, UPS and Federal Express have made it more practical to use them.

Thank you DODGER for your nice and honest answer to my question. Traveling by being an air courier was something I read about fifteen years ago when I was in high school. I didn't think it was still a thing but thought I should ask in a forum where there are lots of people who might know. I can now cross this off my list of potential jobs after I earn my Travel and Tourism Management Degree. Now that you mention the advances in delivery services I can completely understand why it's not around anymore. Heck if amazon gets it's way we'll be seeing flying drones delivering our packages soon! How times do change!

Thanks,
Joanna

Dear Joanna,

I'm sorry that I was so blunt, but your query hasn't been viable for almost two decades, thus my reply that was finding your query incomprehensible.

Sometimes honest and up-to-date info is cruel. I apologize for not being more gentle.

Happy New Year.

Cheers,
Terry
