Las Vegas is the gateway to the Grand Canyon. You have many choices. Rental car,, , . That is worth one day. The bus stops at Hoover Dam, you will need a tour or rental car if you want to spend time there.

You also have plenty of shows to keep you occupied every night. You may want to take advantage of same day discount . Pick up the free magazines once here and decide what you want to see.

VegasMike had some excellent ideas. May I suggest also that San Diego and Los Angeles, Ca is 5 hours drive or a short flight from Las Vegas if you have never been there. I highly recommend these two places if you have time. 5 days in Vegas would be fun, but I would go crazy just staying there. I recommend going to the Visitor's Bureau at the convention center for discount tickets and various ideas for shows. Vegas never sleeps and this time of year is great because of milder weather. Enjoy!

The new Cirque du Soleil show at City Center will be: 'Viva Elvis'. The first part of CityCenter, Aria is due to open mid December.

Thasnks a million for all thos replies, much appreciated. 1 other question - we are lookin to book one of those helicopter tours to the grand canyon but we don't know which one to pick. Does anybody have any suggestions as to which one is the best/value for money?
