When would be the best time to go to New Zealand ? Are there any good cultural events that take place in any of the towns ?
Completely depends on what you like - summer is winding down now and we're heading into autumn, so the weather is getting cooler, although still nice enough in most parts. If you like the snow and skiing, come in winter (July-ish). What kind of cultural events were you wanting?
march-ish is always a good time and you miss the crowds, the water has warmed up and the weather is generally still good - as mentioned though if you want snow then head for the winter months (jul-sept)
