Well good luck with that offer. With tightened airport security and drug smuggling a major problem in both countries, I don't recommend anyone taking a bag overseas that is not their own. A huge downside for little upside IMO.
Maybe you didn't read the message. I said it is all clothing. I wouldn't expect anyone to do something like this without inspecting all the contents first. I would do the same. It is not the same like asking someone to carry a sealed package with unknown contents.
In addition I would be meeting the person at the airport as well. So if there was something stupid as you suggested, do you think I would go meet at the airport?

I agree with Mike, in this environment of suspicious transport issues, any request like this would be looked at with doubt in anyone's eyes! I believe FedEx and UPS serve Thailand from Calif.

Why don't you send it by sea. I don't mean to be insulting, but I agree with the others that it's incredibly dangerous for somebody to take any goods to another country, especially an asian country, on behalf of a stranger.
Yesterday a man was taken into custody from Denpasar airport as there was 1.7kg of amphetamines secreted in the suitcase he was carrying which had been loaned to him by a friend. Whether his story is true or not, that is the sort of thing that can perhaps happen. He will face the death penalty for this.
