Vietnam or Cambodia?

Hello everyone, next year i am going aboard. I choose Vietnam and Cambodia, but my budget is tight.
I search on google and many people say Vietnam is not really good. The capital city and the street is really annoying.
And Cambodia is "after war" country, i didn't know what happen there..

Hi

Vietnam is a fantastic country to travel in with a fascinating history, great people and really delicious food ! It sounds like a cliche but Vietnam really has it all.You could fly into Ho Chi Minh and fly out of Hanoi or vice versa. The main problem is deciding where to go and whether you're able to squeeze everything in as there are so many interesting places to stop at.Among my top favourites were Halong Bay,Hoi An,Hue and Hanoi and the sleepy villages of the Mekong Delta.Ive heard loads of good reports about Phu Quoc Island if you're after some beach life and Sapa is a must if you're into trekking.I loved it and will return !

Some people love Vietnam and some think it's the worst place on Earth. All depends on the point of view and perspective. I love the chaos of Hanoi and hate the development of Saigon. Vietnam is a little different from the rest of the world, and that's what I like. I also think the people are fantastic there, and they welcome foreign travelers with open arms. I've never been to Cambodia (yet), and am planning on seeing Laos when I return to Vietnam in November. You have to come and decide for yourself. The food and accommodation are of high quality considering the very low prices.

VN has 84 million people, Cambodia 14 million. You come from a very crowded country, do you want another crowded, hectic country or one that has much fewer people and a slower pace? Cambodia's claim to fame is Angkor Wat. Many other temple areas that are not as well know as well. has a great website if you are into the ancient past of Cambodia. Nice beach option in . Cambodia is slower paced and more rural.

VN has more things to do/see. Much more variety: beaches, diving, Cham ruins, hill tribes, historic cities, war areas, shopping, nightlife, big cities. Yes, the people can get pushy, you learn to deal with that or move on. You have to decide what is more important to you and pick one. Both are pretty cheap to visit compared to many other countries. Good luck with your planning.

Both counries can get pretty anoying if you're used to the easy going travel in Thailand....I espc. dislike Vietnam and all the hassels, vendors,.....
Won't go there again.

Cambodia is ok if you need something different from Thailand.

Thankyou everyone for all information, I think I choose Cambodia. I prefer to stay on calm and quite place.
And thanks for the link to Cambodia Tales, it's help me a lot : )
