Hi! I'm new here, but i really love this site so i decided to try it by myself. I want to ask what are the best places to visit in Morocco. I'm going there in 2 weeks with a friend of mine. We'll have only 4 days there and people here describe many many places so please help me choose the best for 4 days. I read about this night in the desert, can someone tell me the average price of that kind of adventure. Any help will be much appreciated. 10x in advance!
We spent 14 days in Morocco over xmas. We started in touristy (but really beautiful and a wonderful buzz) Marrakesh. 3/4 days could be spent here alone.
We then hired a car and drove into the Atlas Mountains to Ouarzazate to see Aït Benhaddou. Then we drove North to Merzouga which is in the dessert where you can camp in Berber tents for the night. we didn't do it as we ran out of time to book this but I hear its great. You are only there (in the tent) from sunset until sunrise. We then drove on into Fez. If I had to choose between Fez and Marrakesh I think Marrakesh is nicer, but more tourists who just go for the long weekend.
We really loved this country and will be back. enjoy it
Thanks for your opinion. I'll certainly camp in Berber tent!
hi i realise that you may have been to Morocco but why does everyone go to Merzerga its over populated with tourists y not try more out of the way places same price but just so much better ERG CHEGAGA M'HAMID i have been to both and M'Hamid is so much more authentic and not waking up near zillions of other tourists
Marrakech you cab walk around it for days and learn nothing best to hire registered guide and get to know some of the history its not expensicve and adds so much to yr trip u dont leave knowing as much about the culture as you arrived which is probably not a lot like the rest of us
cheers
I have to agree, Mhamid is sweet and beautiful. The sunset is crispyly Sahara.
I actually prefer Fez than Marrakech. Marrakech to me is very commercialize while Fez is never change since the city is built.
Another place I will never forget is Tinehir. The Canyon there is so much more beautiful and authentic. It is very nice to spend 2 days there.
