Will I actually meet people out there or will I spend alot or anytime alone?
If you want to, you can constantly be surrounded by people. Just stay in hostels, which will be filled with fellow solo travellers, half of which will be going the same direction as you do (it's either up or down the coast), so whom you'll keep bumping into. It of course depends completely on your own attitude how strongly you'll bond with fellow travellers, but for just a chat, all you have to do is to sit in the hostel's lounge for a few minutes, or to walk into the communal kitchen to make yourself a cup of tea, and before you know it someone will be talking to you.
Is the OZ Experiance something anyone would recommend as the travel company I am travelling with is pressuring me into doing this coach transportation?
There are people who are really enjoying the oz experience. Mostly (though certainly not exclusively) they're in the 18-21 age group, more interested in partying than in experiencing the country, and really appreciating not having to figure out their own route.
I personally would strongly recommend making your own way around the country. Allow yourself the freedom to change your plans and itinerary on a whim. The best travel experiences come from this. Follow an out-of-the-blue recommendation for seeing something off the beaten track, decide you want a change of scenery, whatever. Things will be completely different than you can now imagine, and you yourself will learn to appreciate different things than you now do. Having a fixed itinerary with a tour company is not conducive to this. (And of course the only reason the travel company is pushing so much is because they get a lot of commission for selling this tour to you.)
Will it be easy for me to get some work incase I run out of money?
No one can answer that with any degree of certainty. A lot depends on your attitude; some people pick up work in a matter of hours, others look around for weeks without finding anything. Do you have any special qualifications, especially for an in-demand occupation? (IT, nursing, construction, mining?) Or experience with bar work?
There's always some work around, but no matter how many backpackers do it, fruit picking is not the most enjoyable work out there, and it certainly doesn't earn you lots of cash in a short time. You'd need to work long and hard to top up your travelling funds. Bar or office work are the next two most common backpacker jobs, and they tend to earn a bit better, but are also more highly sought after.
What I can recommend is to travel leisurely, staying in any one place for 2-3 weeks, and to do cleaning in your hostel for that time in exchange for your accommodation. This basically means you work for 2-3 hours each day, and stay for free. It's a great way to stretch your money, and keep most of your day free for exploring the place you're at. (Hostels aren't always looking, but when they know you'll stay for several weeks, you have a much higher chance of them wanting to take you on.)
Hi Elle, Oz Experience isn't a tour, its a hop-on hop-off bus company which means you can get off the bus anywhere you like. Parties don't happen on the bus either, they usually happen in the overnight stops with just as many travellers who aren't on Oz Experience. Whether you travel by Oz Experience, Greyhound, or car you will likely end up in much the same places; however, if total flexibility and freedom is your thing you're more likely to get that travelling by car or campervan or even Greyhound. But I say that without knowing anything about your travel budget and how long you have to travel

And Sanders right: The travel company may only be interested in a high commission from Oz Experience as opposed to the best thing for you. But keep in mind that anyone who sells anything on someone elses behalf makes a commission of sorts out of it. This is the way of the world and its not always a bad thing. This website makes commission if you book stuff through them. So its common as salt and the commission is built in to the price. 90% of the time you won't get it cheaper booking direct.
Perhaps ask the travel agent to help you map out an itinerary based on how much time you have. See how good they are; make them work for their money.

Hey Elle! Your basicly going through same thing I'm going through. i have paid for my visa I'm just waiting to get plain tiks etc. I also am nervous even though I'm not going fir another 9 months! I had a look at the oz experience its all difficult decisions on what companys are better though! Haha. Well would be nice to have chat about it as I don't really have a clue about my plans! And best way to do everything. Jimmy
