The best thing to do is take buses only the day light hours.
Buses in Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia have cheap buses.
Avoid border towns. Try crossing borbers int he morning before noon.
Expect to be bribed by officials. this is common.
Try to travel with othe Europeans and stay near or close to the Pan-American highway.
It is easier to go into Bolivia via Peru and Chile, Arica is a nice town: the 1st city in Chile.
There you can get a direct bus to La Paz. In La Paz` contact Diana Tours. They can help find you transport to Brazil.
Good luck.

Between Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia you will be travelling by bus mainly. For heading into Brazil from Bolivia the cheapest way is to get a train from Santa Cruz de la Sierra. You can also get cheap flights from this city to any major brazzilian cities, which is advisable as the distances are quite large.
Beware of robbery in buses especially in Bolivia and Peru, always keep an eye on your stuff and never leave anything on baggage compartiment on top of your seat.
Bolivia, roads can be a bit dangerous in some routs, you can minimize that danger by travelling on the dry season (winter).
Quito, Rio, São Paulo and other big brazilian cities are dangerous , always be careful and whatch for your stuff.
The others are quite safe
