Working in South America?

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience working in South America? I'm hoping to travel there the end of this year for as long as possible and if I could work there that would extend my time. I have loads of hospitality experience and would consider a TEFL course. I'm from the UK and hope to have some conversational Spanish by the time I go. Any advice?
Thanks!

Working almost anywhere in South America requires pretty decent Spanish at the very least (outside of Brazil, which requires Portuguese of course) and some kind of qualification/skill that can't easily be found within the local workforce.

You have to consider who you're competing against and realize you need to bring something to the table that the employer can't find easier/cheaper locally. They don't hand out Work Visas like they used to...

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

Dear Elias,

Megan, the Original Poster, is not TEFL certified and that's a minimum requirement at UK Vivential.
