So will it be too early to visit Switzerland (Alps) on May29-Jun06?
If you want to hike in the Alps or just travel in the higher regions you should go as late as possible. Many roads and almost all mountain huts open only after June 15th with a large number of huts opening after July 1st.
In May you still have snow on the roads and wheather can be very bad on the highest peaks and some passes (hail, rain and even snowstorms). If you want high up it would be safer if you went in late June.
But if you just want to visit the cities and some smaller places located under 1500 meters travelling in May will be ok.
Besides that, any other disadvantage if I visit Black Forest after Zurich?
Yes, you will be disappointed. After glancing at the peaks of the Alps the hills of the Black Forest will seem tiny and insignificant.
Any other disadvantage?
Yes, Italy in June. I would switch the initiary around so that you start in Italy and then go north, ending in Switzerland. May is the best time to be in Italy, not too hot yet and with all the flowers still in bloom. June in Rome be scorching but it is great in Switzerland.
