The Andean ruta 3 between Cusco and Huancayo is stunning in terms of views and natural beauty, but rather time-consuming to travel. A week is enough to get from La Paz to Huancayo by that route, but there won't be too much time for stopovers. Which is a shame, since there's a lot to see both in Cusco and in Ayacucho.
Prices: cheap. Cost won't be your main concern. Getting good connections will, but there's not much that you can plan. Busses get delayed easily, that's a reality.
