Now is the time to apply to the 'International Schools' their school year ends late May, begins late in August, as long as you are a certfied teacher at home, contact tehm online, foreign hires often get benefits or RT ticket, free or discounted lodgings provided by the School and better salary than local hire, the International School also assists you in getting a work permit, the International Schools provide local health insurance for teachers. 1 year (9 month school year) contract. All schools have websites. You are able to take spanish classes and expand your horizons after arrival. Here in El Salvador The British School may hire you, as they hire only UK or Commonwelath teachers. Any rate, all salaries in Latin America are low compared to US, Canada, EU and UK, China, Japan, Taiwan, etc. Cost of living lower. People are friendlier. Mañana rules.
International Schools never hire 'black' locally(no work permit) as do many ESL, EFL Academies in Central and South America, no benefits, low salary average $5.00USD hour,, stagerred hours, early morning, noon and evening classes, most teachers without work permit leave country every 90 days to for 72 hours to renew tourist visa.
