I am going to be in bangkok for new year and was wondering does anyone know any good bars or clubs or just general places for loads of fun? I believe i will be staying in Siam Sqaure near MBK.

If you are single guys then get a hotel in the Sukhumvit Road area, not far from the Nana Skytrain, so you can walk to lots of nightlife. (You can use the Skytrain to take you to MBK.) It might also depend on the type of clubs and bars you are interested in. If it is ritzy glitzy expensive nightclubs you can find them in the Ratchada area:
There are lots of bars in Bangkok in all price ranges. There are areas where there are go-go bars, beer bars, fancy nightclubs - lots of opportunities to separate you from your money!

RCA would be a good option if you're below 30.
The problem with Bangkok is the 2am closing hour. Only a few clubs keep open longer.

Too young to drink legally!
Too often young inexperienced tourists drink too much and do stupid things and end up in trouble with the police. Don't do drugs, if any of your friends do drugs you could also get caught by the police. Thai jails are not at all like jails back in the West.
Be careful! If you are on a budget nightclubs are just about the most expensive places to drink at. Seven and Eleven stores are cheaper for beer. Beer bars are cheaper for drinking.
Some nightclubs frequented by young people have surprise on the spot drug testing.

Since you're heading over, looking to party, keep in mind that Bangkok is not a place to be flexing those beer muscles.
