I am looking for budget accommodation in Jakarta. I heard than Jalan Jaksa (Jaksa Street) is a nice area to stay.
There are several guesthouses on and around Jalan Jaksa which is the main backpacker area of Jakarta. There are also some travellers' cafes along that street which are good places to hang out if you want to meet others.
Yep, Jaksa street is Jakarta's backpacker area. Also quite strategic since it's in the central part. Rates start from around 5 USD for standar room.

Jalan Jaksa accomodation for back packers is ok - not wonderful but ok to stay there.
If you have no plans to spend anytime in Jakarta, but you are in Jakarta, then you can always head by train down to Bogor and stay at Pensione Firman in Bogor.
Or even better get the DAMRI bus from the airport down to Bogor.
