Cheap accomodation in Pattaya & Khao San Road with lot of

Hi everyone,

I will suggest 2 places in Pattaya that are cheap. Crap room of course, but cheap, around 250 baht. PS Guesthouse is just off Beach Road on Soi Yamato,. Beach is 50 meters away. PS GH is used as a 'short time' hotel by many of the working girls/boy/ladyboys that prowl Beach Rd. day and night. Not recommended.

Jom House is on 2nd Rd, close to Soi Diana Inn. Lek Hotel across the street, Apex Hotel just 50 meters away. Crap room, but better than PS GH. Fan, bad bed, bad plumbing, no tv, around 250 baht. I would pay a bit more and try Apex Hotel. Around 550 baht. Pool, a/c, tv, better option IMO. Good luck.

Hey vegasmike thanks,

Actually my exact plan is to enjoy pattaya nightlife and to do lot of shopping in bangkok... thats y m planning for cheaper stay but not like that of PS GH as d same is not recommended by u.....

Ny GH for 400 Baht will be highly acceptable to enjoy everything in pattaya....

So kindly suggest me ok GH for these price tag,,, one more ques if it is ok to stay ny GH at Jomtien Beach (sorry if i spelled it wrong) nd njoying in pattaya....

Suggest me some cheaper stay at Khao San road as well, and shopping place:
I wanna do the following shopping...
1) T-shirts,,,
2) Jeans,,,,
3) Ladies purse....
4) Games stuff....
5) Shoes....
6) Ladies make kit....

All suggestion are welcome... m awaiting for the suggestions....

Everything is a little higher priced near the Christmas - New Years holidays. Off season you can find places in the 400 baht range that have air, close to the holidays not so easy!

Here is a another place on Soi Honey Inn. Soi Honey inn is the same soi the Bay Breeze is on if you need a reference. The New Star Hotel is across from the Intown Holiday Inn.

Personally I would try to find a place with air at a few hundred baht more even if it meant not buying a few things on your list. This Apex Hotel may have a vacancy or may not. They have an "all you can eat" buffet you can check out. The buffet is open to the public.
(The Apex used to claim to have no vacancies if you wanted one night but they magically found rooms when you mentioned you could stay additional nights!)

Get a room somewhere for the night and then check out other places for the rest of your stay.
You may be able to find some cheap places on Soi Skaw Beach (up from Soi Honey Inn) like this:

And on soi Buakhaw there will be other places near here:

Good luck.

Hey Karazyal,

thanks for the info...

i dont bother about the air cond... if fan will b there it will work for me....

I wanna enjoy the pattaya nightlife at extreme and i have to do some shopping also....

One more thing,,, you told about khao san road or pattaya,,,, if you know any backpackers accomodation at both the places,,, just help me out.....

vl b thankful to you................

thanks in advance.....

all suggestions are welcome.....

Cheap place for Bangkok? But keep in mind if you intend to purchase lots of stuff you have to put that "stuff" somewhere. Do you want to leave that stuff in a hostel? Paying a little more on hotels for the trip of a lifetime may may you end up being the better choice.

This small hotel chain has several cheap hotels in the Sukhumvit Road area. Other places also available on Soi 4 and other areas that you can locate with a walk by.

Suk 11 Hostel has private rooms too.

Pattaya T shirts will usually be cheaper in Pattaya and same for Bangkok T shirts in Bangkok. Expect to pay 80 baht to 250 baht depending.

For shoes, ladies stuff, handbags, etc. there is a mini garment district in the area of Pratunam not far from this place:
This is the soi leading up to the Baiyoke Tower Hotel and nearby streets. On Phetchaburi Road you will find the Panthip Plaza. (In Pattaya the Tuk Com It Center is similar.)

Good luck.

M waiting for your valuable reply karazyal.....

Pattaya isn't big on hostels because so many regular small hotels or guest houses are the same price and you don't have to share toilets and showers with 30 other people!

I don't like Khao San Road area so I have "only visited" unlike the Sukhumvit area where I actually have lived there or stayed in that area frequently. I like having the Skytrain around and be able to walk to things I like. But I am not a kid right out of school who wants to be around other "kids" like many backpackers want.

Sawasdee Hotel Chain has several hotels in this area plus Pattaya too.

Udee is a cheap place for Bangkok but like other places in Bangkok single rooms are not that cheap.

I am not sure if you are male or female. Soi 1 Hostel and above Udee have women only dorms where you can spend one night and then look around.

For the trip of a lifetime I would up the price you pay for a hotel room. For gifts T shirts always are a good deal. You can't break them, they can be used to wrap breakables in. Unless you are looking for stuff for resale then the Pratunam area, mini garment district might do.

As far as electronics go expensive items may be cheaper in your own country. I can get better deals on computers and other big price items in the US on sale! Plus for expensive items the warranty may actually worth something.

For Pattaya - Jomtien is a little off center being far south of Pattaya City. If you have a place close to the beach not too bad but I think you will have more "cheaper" places in the Pattaya City area. In Pattaya City transportation is only 10 baht. From some places in the Jomtien area you pay a little more especially if you are off the beaten path. (Baht bus ride from Jomtien to Pattaya City is 20 baht using set routes.)

Map of Pattaya:

Can you help me out with some place for stay in pattaya city...........

I think Albert has given you some good options. The week between X-mas and New Year is one the busiest weeks you could pick to visit Thailand. I would pick either the cheapest Sawasdee Hotel, the Apex or the Winner Inn. I have stayed at Sawasdee & Apex. Both just OK rooms, decent buffet at Apex for the price.

You need to pick one and make a reservation. I usually just show up and see what I can find. But not around X-mas. Make a decision and book a room in both cities.
