Am looking to travel to Bangkok, then fly out of KL at the end - am wondering what to pick to do.....looking for nature, beauttiful scenery, culture and history, not parties!
what time of the year you are going? For Islands in thailand - pick the side that isnt in the monsoon season i would say? On the east coast definately do not miss out Koh Tao it is beautfiul - stay on chalok ban - soooo pretty i stayed at buddha view diving resort, you can hire out a bick and go around th elittle island!
Koh samui i stayed on chaweng which i wouldnt recomend too noisy, touristy and smelly so maybe check out another part of the island which is quieter, koh phangan again i stayed at haad rin which is where all th eparties are at with the full mooon but still a really nice place, so stay on the other side at one of the quieter beaches i think baan tai is meant to be really nice and agian just hire out a bike and explore.
on the west coast ive heard phi phi is stunning (sounds similar to koh tao!) and all the other little islands surrouding and of course phuket and krabi is also meant to be stunning, haven't been myself.
I highly recomend chiang mai, lots to do, so much fun, very friendly place and very very cheap! i havent been to cambodia/laos/vietnam - do your research and see what parts interest you the most and then decide!
