Im going to Rio for carnival as well. I have no set plans after March 10 but plan on either flying or bussing back through Paraguay to Argentina maybe across to Chile. Where are you staying in Rio??

Cool sounds like a plan! I'm staying at ACEBackpackers hostel in Botofogo, everywhere was pretty much booked up so don't know too much about this place- it's on all the hostel websites though so can't be too dodgey (here's hoping!). You?
Out of interest, how old are you? Cos i'm 19 and being a girl i'm just a bit nervous about safety at night during Carnival. I know it's me being paranoid that I won't make friends with people in my hostel as once I'm with a group I'll be fine, just would be nice to know if other solo female travellers are in the same position! ... unless you're a boy as you could well be lol.
