I'm going on a round the world trip, starting in Jan 2012! I'll be going to South America first but will land in Sydney at the end of May or the beginning of June, same as you, planning to get a job and stay there for a few months before heading to South East Asia!
I figured since it'll be getting chilly in Sydney, I'd probably head towards Cairns and Darwin and work there!
I think it's great that you're doing this, and on your own (I haven't yet reached the phase where I'll be freaking out and terrified of being alone but I'm sure it'll me soon )

Hey, are you also going at it alone?
Yeah ive been told its cold so gonna just land there and 'go with the flow' and then head up higher on the east coast and work my way back down. Wanting trips to ayers rock, whitsunday etc..
Just hoping its as easy going as people make out, as i dont want to be on my own for the whole time im there ha ha!
Yes definately cheers to crapping ourselfs! Im sure ill be throwing up on the plane and freaking out in dubai airport for ten hours before my next flight lol xx
wow, i'm doing pretty much the same but i'm going to the west coast! I think like you say, just go with the flow and don't worry about it too much. Be weary but take it as it comes - it makes it more of an adventure and a memory. Good luck Grace
Hey Rhys, are you not planning on going over to the east coast? Though coral bay on the west looks amazing! I want to go all over, but Australia is bloody huge!

I'm not actually sure, i'd love to make my way across and probably will but as you say Australia is mahoooooosive! I set off on the 16th November (so like 12 days from now) and i'm staying with a couple of distant cousins to start with - my main reasoning for starting in Perth, but ultimately i don't wanna have to rely on them so i'll be looking to make my way pretty sharpish
Grace, I see from your profile you are from Birmingham, ironically i'm staying/going out there tonight - going to see the Arctic Monkeys at the LG Arena I have no reason to mention this apart from it is my last big gig before i go! Any recommendations club-wise for afterwards? We are Indie/Alternative/Rock lads so any clubs with that type of music will do x

Yesss, well tonight im off to like most fridays, Propaganda at the o2 its a good night out and cheapo so id suggest that or maybe subway city if your into your rock lol x
Ended up going to Propaganda, was an absolute mental night! The music was bang on, literally, and the drinks were dirt cheap. My new favourite club. Cheers for that Gracey baby, hope you had a good'un! x
