Hi Guys,
Add Japan to that list ... hot and humid in the summer.
Are you set on an Asian destination? The northwestern U.S. is nice that time of year.
Hi Guys,
I am new to the forum and found it quite informative.
I am planning for a Holiday in August with my wife, kid and my parents. Not sure where to go.
Have been confused with suggestions I go so far.
The two important points for me to keep in mind are below:
1) Availability of Indian Veg food wherever we go, or at least decent veg food.
2) No Rains where we go and the weather should be pleasant.Heard that Hongkong, Singapore and Malaysia will be very rainy.
Please advise.
Thanks
Think about Thailand. Even during the rainy season millions of tourists still visit! The rain does not fall all over Thailand at the same time. There may be rain in Bangkok and no rain in a tourist destination like Pattaya or vice versa. For most of the time the rain stops in an hour or so. Rain gives you a break, sort of an excuse to stop in a mall or stop in a restaurant for something to eat. Often the rain falls during the nighttime where it not a big problem.
One advantage of a holiday during rainy season is that most of the hotels are at low season pricing. Hong Kong and Singapore will be more expensive than Thailand. You can have a cheaper vacation in Thailand. As far as vegetarian food goes you can easily find that in Thailand. There are lots of Indians living in Thailand. Also,I see lots of Indian tourists in Pattaya every year, but there are other places to visit besides there and Bangkok. Like your own country, during rainy season there are some areas that are better than other areas.
Here is a link to a Thai/Indian forum. Perhaps you can get some additional confirmation if it is okay for Indians to visit Thailand in August. I like it in Thailand during the off season. The foliage is nice and green, vegetables are fresh and fewer crowds around. Local transportation is cheap in Thailand compared to Singapore and Hong Kong.

Happy New Year!
We spent 4 weeks in Vietnam last August and it was absolutely wonderful. We seemed to get really lucky with the weather, we were even on the beach in Hoi An! Vietnam is a fantastic destination packed full of lots of things to keep you more than entertained
