hey,
has anyone went to spain recently?
I would like to make a trip to barcelona at the end of September and maybe include 2or 3 days in madrid also.
Does anyone know any cheap accommodation?
Hi Catalina,
I live here in Barcelona so of course I can help you.
Can you give more information about how long do you stay, what you like to do..maybe I can give you some tips if you like? There are a lot of accommodations where you can stay in Barcelona, but in which district do you like? Close to the city, close to the big station Sants or in a typical Catalan neighbourhood?
If you go to Madrid is here the website of Renfe, the train to Madrid:

I am planning to stay just a few days, 3 or 4 days. I would like to somewhere nice and cheap.I think a typical Catalan neighbourhood would be very interesting. Is the city transportation expensive?
Hi there,
I am also living here in Barcelona at the moment and I recently found -snip-
The metro is a very handy thing to cross through whole Barcelona and if you are staying 3 days you can take a 10-trip card wich only costs you 7, 85 or something.
I haven´t been in Madrid yet but i am planning to go, but the spanish people say Barcelona is prettier so good choise to visit both.
If you have another question i´ll be happy to help.
Jolien
And I am in Madrid ...
September is nice for a visit. Madrid is bigger, and a bit more typically Spanish, apart from the obvious sights in Madrid, check if you want to do some daytrips. Toledo and Segovia are the obvious one, but there are also some others other ones, like El Escorial or Alcalá de Henares. (on all of them are pages written in the Travel Guide, as well as an extensive one on Madrid.)
