Hi guys,
I am going Oz on a working visa after going back to Thailand for a month or so in June.
I literally don't know much about anywhere except the usual talk. I am starting in Melbourne. Just simply because I have heard good things from friends who have been there.
I currently have a friend in Sydney who is getting paid really well for basic work and loving it but she now needs to do her 3 months agriculture to guarantee another 12mnths on her visa. Personally....I might try and get that bit done earlier on just in case I want to stay for 24months. I have a mate who has a few contacts in Oz so I am hoping he can line me up with some work before I land!
I will be in Melbourne by July, so if you are knocking about there, I am always available for a beer with fellow travellers!

A lot of people are saying Melbourne and seem to be a lot of cheap places to stay etc. think i may give it a go. Also reading other peoples post Cairns is looking good as well so it looks like a toss up between the two haha

Hey Karl. I'm a 20 year old lad from London. I'm heading off to cairns on 22nd August and just making my way down coast and see if I find work. From what I've heard forums etc this seems best route. Price wise It doesent seem that cheap plus the exchange rate is crap! I'm not one to advice as I don't know much myself! But cairns to Sydney or Melbourne seems best to. Jimmy

Think I'm going to sort my visa out this month and then get some a flight booked! I'll be nervous when I go like, but seems a lot of people are in the same boat. Plus you get good advice on here so shouldn't be too hard to sort stuff out... I hope haha
same mate im shitting myself for when i get out there! i just intend on drinking shit loads of beer and some cheap wine to settle in haha. should be alright though!

Hey lads.....I've only done one month travel before my planned Oz adventure....I wasn't actually nervous for that because I'm too fucking laid back! haha but this stuff is a massive adventure!!! sod shitting it.....get excited! what's the worst that can happen? it isn't all it's cracked up to be....and the best?? you might just have the best time of your lives! That's the way I look at it!

I'm pretty much in the same boat,im heading over the end of march guna work for a bit save and travel around i got a years working visa.I'm lucky in the fact my bro and sis are over there but i want to travel and stuff and am a bit nervous as in where to meet people and what the nightlifes like(as i love my parties and madness,being irish ye know ha)i was told in the cities like brisbane theres great nightlife like if you want to find it you will.Where are you heading over there?I'm the same so if anyone has any info it would be much appreciated .
