I have been to Greece a few times with my mates and b'friend, i've been to Koz, Rhodes and Zanti.
If you looking for a mad week I would recommend Zanti (Laganas), I went about 6 years ago and had a great time, altho it maybe different now. We had a good chill out on the gorgeous beaches but the night life is abit wild, which we enjoyed back then (i'm abit old now!! haha!)
I love Greece, the food is great, the weather brill and the Greeks are really hospitable apart from around the markets where they are quite brutal in selling you things, dont be afraid to say no or barter if you can!
I dont think you will go wrong whichever island you choose to go though!

Kos, Zante and Rhodes are only islands - and not Mainland Greece, which is quite different.
I too have done a few of the islands as well as both the north and south of the country.
What is it you're asking guidance on - an island, part of the Mainland - or both?

A few years ago I spent a similar holiday in Greece with my girlfriends when I finished my degree. We spent a summer island-hopping in the Cyclades, spending the majority of our time in Ios, which is a fantastic party spot with lovely beaches also. Based on my experience I would really recommend the Cyclades but I am a little unsure what they will be like in October, as I know a lot of people leave once September comes...Maybe other posters will be able to comment on what these islands will be like in Autumn.

Greece is a very welcome country. I dislike a mainland part of Greece, i love to travel from one island to other under sail.
