I purchased a promo fare thru Airasia from Kuala Lumpur to Sydney (RT) from May 4-June 11. I will be coming from the Philippines and plan to fly first to Singapore and stay there for 1 week then go to KL on May 4 for my sydney flight. Since I come from an SE Asian country (Phils), I am not required to get a visa for Malaysia but the validity of my stay should not exceed 1 month (per immigration rule). Will there be a problem with Malaysia Immigration if I show a return ticket (Sydney-KL) dated June 11, which is more than a month after May 4 when I first entered KL? Will my Australian visa enough to convince them that I will just be going there for my flight to sydney and back to KL, then back again to Singapore (where I will be staying again for another week) before I flew back to the Philippines? I can't see how your stay in KL will be affected since you are merely passing through. The one month is an actual stay in Malaysia and when you come back in June, you'll get another one month allowance there.
I find customs work best if you tell them as little as possible. Purpose of visit? Flight to Australia on Air Asia. Done.
Be aware that on an AirAsia flight, you get nothing but your seat. While this is OK for a few hour flight, on long haul, you get no water and have to buy their bottles. No food, No blankets (it can get cold on night flights) and no pillows. Unless prebooked.
Maybe buy some water in KL airport, past the customs area?
Anything you buy on the plane, you get your change in Malaysian currency, and if you are not going back there, tough. But luckily you are so maybe take some currency with you?
Only 15 kg of checked luggage (they are fussy about size).

Humm I'd love to see you tell that to an immigration officer. "but I'm merely passing through!"
Although in this case he is "transiting" he doesn't require a visa in the first instance and when he returns he will fall under the ASEAN countries agreement and have his one month.
LCCT doesnt actually have transit facilities though, you go through immigration the same as everyone else, so you need to have your KL to SYD ticket to prove you are transiting, you will then be issued a 120 hour transit visa.

At LCCT ive always managed to be allowed to take water through the security check point, although I don't call attention to it. It costs a fraction of what they will charge in the departure lounge or on the plane. And hell yes sneak food on the plane! Although Ive enjoyed the Malaysian meals on Air Asia flights, but its never enough on a long haul.
And they don't have a 15kg of checked luggage, you pay for what you want to bring as an extra.
