I think we can have at most two weeks.Already know very well South America, Eua and Europe.
Were thinking in some mid-adventure trip.. and we are very inclined to go to south Asia.. like Indonesia or around.Since we don't have previous experiences with Asia, we would like your contribution to our honeymoon!
Ps: I understand Mandarin a little, but I don't think its going to help communication there! hahaha
Maybe you might consider Thailand over Indonesia since you have no experience in Asia. You can even use some of your Mandarin in some of the shops in Bangkok. For Thailand tourism is big business! You have efficient and reasonably cheap transportation, modern malls, exotic scenery and beaches and hotels that are cheaper than what you would find in Japan, Korea or Taiwan.
Start in Bangkok, see the city for a few days. End your trip in Bangkok so you will only be a quick meter taxi ride to the airport. Phuket has a nice beach for your honeymoon. Try to schedule a trip up to Chiang Mai and see some of the things that make Thailand unique.
For tours you can get them through local travel agencies. Google up "Things to see and do in Bangkok" for lots of links on what to do. You can also find interesting things to do for Chiang Mai and Phuket the same way. If you need any hotel recommendations always include how much you want to pay for a hotel room per night. Basic hotel rooms that aren't too bad for a honeymoon couple will start around 1200 baht. Cheaper and more expensive hotels are also available, even with air. For Bangkok get a hotel near the Skytrain route. Close to Christmas and New Years holidays rooms will be more expensive because this is high season. Change your currency over to Thai baht after you get to Thailand for your best exchange rate. Lots of posts on this travel forum for Thailand.
Good luck.
Hi,
If you have a plane for your honeymoon, why not choice Vietnam, the beautyful country with the old history and culture, a lot of interesting places in Vietnam for your honeymoon, DALAT, SAPA, HALONG BAY,, NHA TRANG...every where will be good exprences for you and your wife.
Thailand is a really good option since you can do a lot of things. Are you planning to travel on a backpacking kind of thing or just relaxing and enjoying the place? Here is the point of entry for most travelers since you can get to other neighboring countries easily. But if you want a really nice and romantic place, where the number of tourist aren't as many, check out, El Nido, Palawan, Philippines, breathtakingly beautiful and untouched, or any places in Palawan. Worth it! It isn't as expensive as other touristy places in Thailand for sure, and you get both the local life and beauty.
hey why dont u plan for india like Darjeeling, Dalhousie, Srinagar, Agra, Rajasthan, Goa
How about Nepal ?
There are many beautiful and interesting places to visit inside and outside the Kathmandu Valley. The places are full of history and historical remains and are remarkable for their beauties. Most of the places can be easily reached from Kathmandu by road or by air. High in the Himalayan Mountains lays the small Kingdom of Nepal, with its lofty mountains, deep valleys, lush jungles, exotic wildlife and diverse peoples. Mostly known as the Land of Everest or the Birthplace of the Lord Buddha. Nepal has a variety of attractions to keep tourists coming back for more.
