I will be in sydney from nov 10 but be lookin to head up the east coast from mid-end of Jan 11. Thinking of doing to Oz experience but not going to book this until I am out there. Have you got any plans fixed for your travelling??
I'll be getting into Melbourne in early Feb and traveling onwards to Fiji from Brisbane in April. I'm looking to get work for a couple of months, whether that's paid / voluntary I'm not sure as yet. I know friends of friends along the coast so I'll be asking around to see if they can help out with work stuff and I'd imagine that'll have a big impact on where I end up spending a chunk of time (probably a month or so in one place?).
What I was really hoping to do though is buy a car in Melbourne and the drive right up the coast. It'll give so much more flexibility and hopefully, even allow to go inland a tiny tiny bit to get some different scenary. I'd then flog the thing in Brisbane before I left. I can't afford anything flashy, I just figure it's probably cheaper than a whole 2 month rental and doesn't have to be returned to the same place. I'll be looking for someone who wants in on this as well as it'll definitely be more awesome with 2 or 3 people and so good to share some of the driving!

im in oz from 24 of december,but i was going to hopefully pick up work in sydney for a month then head up the coast at th end of jan,start of feb,looks like all three of us could possibly be looking at the same time
i havent got anythin set in stone though with oz so im open to options.
lizzie,i was thinking og the oz adventure to,so i may look into that while im out there.
kitty,the car thing sounds right up my street,i would defo be up for that,as i said originally,my mate was meant to be meeting me,and the idea was to higher a campervan and travel up in that,but a car would be ideal.i leave oz for fiji end of april too

unfortunately kitty I think I may well have set off from sydney by the time you reach there from Melbourne in Feb/May time. However, if i do still happen to be around that way I would def be up for the car idea, or even could take over the car when you get to Brisbane. There are soooo many ideas its crazy.... im sure however much plannin we all do wen we get out there they will change completely dependent on work, ppl we meet, places we like, etc!! are u two travellin alone i take it??

I'm not sure how long i'll be in Melbourne for. It kind of depends on work when I get there as I'd like to pick up a bit of work somewhere in Oz and maybe get a couple of gigs (I do burlesque and they've got a bit of a scene there i'm told), then up round the East Coast, performing for petty cash and beer.
All these ideas sound amazing. I say we should swap facebook contacts and stay in touch! We could totally all miss timings OR this plan could fit so snuggly together it was just meant to be - bless you travellerspoint.
I'm travelling on my own but because I want to meet people and experience so much whilst i'm away. I'd definitely far rather be car travelling with someone to share driving and share the whole experience with. It would be absolutely rad. Plus to travel on to Fiji is perfect!
I'm in Hong Kong for Christmas and New Year with some folks I met last year.
