Parking in Washington, DC

Hi - I'm taking a trip to DC from Sunday, June 13 and leaving Tuesday morning (the 15th). The hotel where I'm staying in Georgetown has $35/night parking so I'm writing to ask for help on what my other options might be for cheaper 2-day/night parking.

The DC Metro, or subway system is quite good. It offers easy access from Washington International Airport and from numerous "Park and Ride" locations around the city to most of the major attractions. On weekdays, the parking situation in the city can be quite difficult. I recommend parking outside of the downtown area and using the Metro. On weekends and holidays when the government beaurocrats desert their offices, downtown parking is readily available.

I think you're kind of stuck. Problem is there is no subway to Georgetown. When the system was being built the residents turned it down, seems they didn't like the possibility of "bad elements" having access to their precious neighborhood.

So if you stash your car somewhere else (long term parking outside the airport for $10 a day) then you won't be able to get around easily.
