Visiting Paris in October... Bad Idea? HELP

Hi,
I ended up booking a trip to Paris during the second week of October based on my work schedule. I didn't think about the weather when chosing the dates, and I would like to know what you guys think about it.
What should I expect? Is October a bad month to visit Paris? Should I try to reschedule?
Thanks

Weather's likely to be fairly good. It may even be sunny!

I live about seventy miles from Paris. In October in the past we've had brilliant sunshine. We have also have cold, wet and windy. I would expect the latter as sun is very unusual so bring a telescopic umbrella.

Book accommodation near a Metro station. The subway makes life easy getting around Paris and you can buy multiple tickets or a book of tickets to save queuing up as apart from going outside of Paris, there is a flat fare. Lots of museums to visit if weather is bad. Museum pass:

Do buy a good street map of Paris and pick up a "plan" (map) at the Metro ticket office. There are also a number of tour buses to help you get around, and trains if you fancy a day out somewhere. Rouen the old capital of France is about an hour and 20 euros away (validate your ticket before getting on the train. You'll see others punching their tickets in a small machine).

Don't reschedule, Paris will be fine in October. Sure, it won't be as hot as in July - but it'll still be pleasant, if dark rather ealry in the evenings.
Paris is a wonderful city all year round - and even in the middle of winter when well wrapped up, it's a great place for walking and stopping off in a fine bistro for coffee and hot croissants.
