A few months in New Zealand

I am 29 and have time to spend in New Zealand between march-June I am not restricted to any itinerary but I am not going to be working and was wondering if 3 months is a little over board?? Any experienced travellers please have some input...
I spent a year in Australia and have friends there that im sure il visit whilst im in the area (ish)

Ive been coming to NZ for 5 years now and I still havent seen or had enough of the place!

March and even April can be ok months, but by May it's getting pretty wet, cold and miserable. June isn't quite into the winter snow months and can be hit or miss for skiing.

I think you are right not to waste your WHV on this trip. Depending on your finances, I think since you arn't working maybe come for 2 months of March and April and make your decision from there.

Im thinking that I will sit it out somwhere a bit warmer - Fiji or somewhere - I loved it there. Somewhere preferably cheap - suggestions welcome!

I wasn't overly thrilled with Fiji and it's a long way for you to come just for one place. Only a little closer is Bali and then a bit of island hopping to the rest of Indo which I think culturally is interesting and weather wise is awesome.

From the Uk you can fly to KL then a cheap flight into Bali or Jakarta.

Or maybe I read your reply wrong and you mean you are still going to NZ, but then on to Fiji to sit out winter?

I was thinking of visiting friends in oz when it gets into may time. If you coul reccomend a good itin for the 2 suggested months I would really appreciate it. I'm into wildlife and have put myself forward for a couple of work exchanges . Thanks

Make sure you get up and check out Goat Island. It's ammazing and most people miss it. The snorkeling and fish life is unreal!!! There's a couple tours that take you up there for pretty cheap out of Auckland.

You gave up on NZ just like that?!?! Lol ok so maybe being a Kiwi myself I'm a bit biased, but its a great country to explore in the Autumn months. With the amount of time you have you could really slow down and see things at a leisurely pace, exploring all the pieces that everyone else whizzes past on their tour buses. You could always do 2 months NZ/1 month in Aussie visiting your friends if you really did feel like 3 months was too much

I havent given up on NZ im getting there saturday¬! Still got no plan. Just rocking up to auckland and seeing what happens
