the elephant nature park in chiang mai was one of the best experiences of my life. you do have to pay $370 a week though, covers lodging and food. the thai elephant is endangered and they are amazing creatures. they also have a new park in surin, closer to bangkok. if you can manage the cost, it is a must do!! good luck

It's a good location since it's close to Hua Hin and other tourist places.
