What visa do i need for thailand, laos, vietnam and cambodia

I dont know what visas i need/ how to go abotu getting them please help!

You need to indicate your nationality, and is the purpose simply to travel in those countries?

Sophie,
'mojorob' is right. What passport you hold makes a difference. If your are from an ASEAN country, you may enter Cambodia & Laos w/o needing a visa. Thailand offers a free 30 day visa waiver for citizens of most western countries. Other countries like Russia & Ukraine are only allowed to stay 15 days on the visa waiver program. Citizens of some countries must obtain a visa before entering Thailand. Nigeria is one example.

I will give examples for a US or UK passport holder. Thailand will let you stay for 30 days if you fly in, 15 days if you cross a land border, free on visa waiver system. Cambodia will sell a 30 day visa on arrival for $25. Airport or land border. Laos will sell you a 30 visa on arrival, $35. VN is the one country you need to arrange your visa before arrival. There is a visa on arrival system set up for those who fly into VN. I used this system on my to VN. If you arrive via a land border, you must buy your VN visa beforehand. Phnom Penh is the fastest, cheapest place to buy your VN visa. Price varies, but figure $35 for a 30 day VN visa.

Hope this helps with your planning.

thankyou! im going for 52 days im from the uk and hold afull uk passport, the visa's are just to travel im flying form sydeny to bankok

Thailand...

30 days free visa on arrival at the airport when u land
15 days free at a land border
60 days visa if u apply at an embassy outside of thailand. ie in the UK. then u can extend this visa for an extra 30days once you are in Thailand

1 year multiple entry visa... 100 Pounds from Hull embassy in UK, only from Hull

Hope this helps.

hi guys. Im from england flying into bangkok in august. As i understand it you get a 30 day visa free when arriving but could be asked for proof of an onward ticket out of thailand within that time. I read that they rarely check but theres a chance they will. So do you think its worth the gamble or should i apply for tourist visa before i go ?

April,
This always a dilemma for visitors to Thailand. I have flown into BKK at least 14 times, my Vegas buddy at least 30 times over the years. Neither one of us has ever been asked for an onward ticket. If you don't feel comfortable flying in w/o an onward ticket, book an flight to Phnom Penh. Cheap and perhaps you want to visit Cambodia while you are in SEA. Personally, I would not bother, but it is your decision. If you want to stay more than 30 days, then I would get a 60 day tourist visa before flying to Thailand. Good luck with your planning.

Its good to hear from someone thats done it and that it seems the chances are quite low.. Silly as it may sound I never thought about getting a cheap flight. I think it will be sensible for me as even though i know i will be ok im feeling anxious going by myself already so maybe this is better for me this time. Thanks for reply
