Israel Kibbutz advice please!

I have about 2 and a half months off this summer (I am a student) and I am thinking about going to a Kibbutz for some of this time. I've heard its a great way to meet lots of people and that it is a lot of fun. But I am struggling to find one with a decent website that tells me everything I need to know. I would prefer one that is not focused as such on religion. If anyone knows anything about this, or can recommend one to me i'd be grateful! I've heard of a kibbutz called Zakim that my dad once worked on aswell if anyone's heard of that.

hi! I spent a year in Kibbutz, but it was 20 years ago. Things changed since 90th.
For volonteering couple of months it may be nice, as it problably feels a bit like a scout-camp.
Idea of Kibbutz changed a lot in last 10 years and, as i know, there are no more "communa", but became more busines-oriented - as much as it could beceme oriented on individuals. it's village, young ppl are running away and most of locals are eldery. I guess in vavations you will meet other volonteers there, which could be fun (scouts-camp, as i already mentioned).
About religious staff - it's clear separation . There are religious and not-religious are separately. Nothing wrong to ask about. Those that not-religious are often very "left" and still keep various pro-communist ideas. Well, it's generalization, as u understand, but at its base that what is going there.
It's organisation "Kibbutz Movement" that sitts in Tel Aviv.

answers on your questions will be there. They also could help you to choose one. Before you accept one specific - take yourself couple of days to collect info and ask ppl. Location can be nice and can be a bad 'fault" too (for climate, transportation and political reasons).
good luck,
cheers,
vanessa
