Perth is cheap to fly to but is there much work?

I've a WHV for Australia and looking of cheapest way to fly into the country from KL or Singapore (I'm in the latter) Perth is £68 to fly to with AirAsia or I could fly to Brisbane or the Gold Coast for x3 or x4 of the price. Is it wise to start in Perth or shall I splash out and pay for the East Coast? I'd prefer to work in an office doing accountancy work if it's possible.

Australia like everywhere else is suffering from the global downturn so you cannot guarantee work. You will of course need a work permit.

Perth is somewhat isolated on the western side of Australia. Have you looked at fares to fly to the East?

Have you checked Tiger Airlines to Australia?

Note. Unless previously paid for, with AirAsia you get your seat and nothing else. No food, no water, no blanket (and the cabin can get cold), etc. You can buy things on the flight but change is in Malaysian currency which is accepted in only a few other countries, and usually only largish notes.

I've heard that as a city, perth is doing better than for example melbourne so work would be easier to find there. im flying out next month!
