pLAN TO FLY TO AMSTERDAM AND HIRE A CAR TO TRAVEL TO ATHENS IN JULY. GOT A WEEK TO GET THERE. VIA GERMANY CHECH REP, ROMENIA, BULGARIA. ANY ADVICE? ALTERNATIVELY TAKE EURORAIL. wE ARE A FAMILY OF THREE AND DONT WANT TO BOOK ACCOMMODATION BEFORE.
One way fees for renting a car in the Netherlands and dropping it off in Greece are going to be astronomical, if any rental companies will allow it at all (which I kinda doubt; they won't be insured outside of Western Europe). I also can't imagine why you'd ever want to spend that much time on the road in such a very short amount of time, especially in summer, when you have a good chance of the sun heating up the car to rather unpleasant levels.
