If you must travel by rail use night trains and go via Warsaw-Budapest, something like this:
a) Minsk-Warsaw (departure 8.40PM, arrival ~5.51AM, tickets from about €50)
b) Warsaw-Budapest (dep. 8.55PM, arr. 8.35AM, from ~€60-70)
c) Budapest-Brasov (dep. 7.10PM, arr. 8.14AM, from ~€40)
Check the timetables on before you travel.
Like you've already heard Bucharest isn't necessarily the best destination in Romania for a short trip. As mentioned above, Brasov would be a much better base for your 4 days - it has a great location right next to the mountains, a well preserved medieval quarter and plenty of sites (castles, fortresses, old villages) in its surroundings.
You could use or to rent a car. Whatever you do, don't rent from the major international rental companies, their rates are in general much higher than the ones of local companies.
Curtea de Arges is relatively easy to reach from Brasov, around 3 hours drive on a direct route. Of course if you happen to travel in summer-early autumn (July to October) you must do the famous Transfagarasan road through the Fagaras mountains, with Curtea de Arges at the start or end (which would take a full day).
Other places around Brasov you should visit are the cities of Sighisoara (2 hours drive) and Sibiu (2 1/2 hours), Peles palace in Sinaia (40 minutes-one hour), Rasnov fortress (20 minutes away, on the route to Curtea de Arges) or the fortified churches in Prejmer and Harman (15-20 minutes).
Thanks for the help everybody. I've found a great company for car rental, they are an Australian company called drivewayholidays.com.au, very good rates. So it looks like barsov it is. Just one question rmm, do you know of any trains that would do the trip from Minsk to Warsaw to Romania during the day. Just that I figure I may as well check out some countryside if I can, if not that's cool, thanks anyway.
Sure, it's possible to travel during the day: there is a direct day train between Minsk and Warsaw (d. 8.43AM, a. 6.45PM), you can get from Warsaw to Budapest with just one change of trains and another direct train from Budapest and Brasov (d. 9.10AM, a. 10.40PM).
But travel times are long (over 11 hours from Minsk to Warsaw, nearly 13 hours from Budapest to Brasov), you might get bored.
Thanks rmm, I think im going to fly london/minsk/warsaw, then train it from Warsaw to Romania, and then fly from Romania to London. I've worked it out and the flights will only cost about $400 australian dollars, while the train will be $100 max. I will have to go to bucharest though as the place that I want to hire out a car from can only organise it from Bucharest. Would you be able to help me, is there a train that goes from Warsaw to Bucharest during the day???, thanks again
If you want to travel just by day you'll have to change several trains, something like this:
a) Warsaw-Breclav (departure 6.30, arrival 12.50)
b) Breclav-Budapest (d. 13.00, a. 16.35)
c) spend the night in Budapest
d) Budapest-Timisoara (d. 7.10, a. 13.23)
e) Timisoara-Bucharest (d. 13.48, a 22.32)

Go onto the International tab and enter the journey details. Its gives you the price in Euros at the bottom right of the screen.
www.bahn.de is good for europe wide train times.
