Hi! I'm finishing my degree this year and I'm desperate to get any kind of job in any country abroad. I've sent a lot of appliances but most of the times I don't get any answer. Can you tell me which are the best ways to get a job in a foreign country? How do you usually do it? Do you just go to the countries and search for a job there, or do you already know what you will be working on before you leave?
Most of my friends have found that the easiest way to get work when you have languages is to join temping agencies who will send you out to service centres, from there you can build your experience on your cv and have an income while you look for something more suitable.....
in my own situation i saw the job before i moved on monsterboard and applied...

Hi Rraven! Thanks for your reply! Well, I'm happy to get a job in any country apart from spain or france (because it's too close to portugal and if I'm leaving a prefer to leave for a more distant country! lol)
My plan was to work in a country for 6 months and then, with the money earned, travel through SE Asia for a while. But to be able to save some money i would need a job which would give me accomodation and stuff like that, and I think temping agencies don't provide that, do they?
If anyone has more ideas, please tell me!!

No temping agencies don't provide that but if they could provide you with a job with a decent enough wage you could afford to pay for them and still save.........
many teaching jobs / aupair / bar work also don't necessarily cover accomodation and would pay you a lot less......
if you're only intending for a six month stay somewhere then i would advise getting a job before you get there and taking a short term rental.......and for a quick money solution then service centres / european head qtr's is normally a quick way in.....they're mostly based in industrial parks outside city centres so rent etc to stay somewhere is cheaper....
Have you checked the ex pat websites? they normally show which countries are hiring and at what level, especially for languages.....
Hi, again! How do that ex pats websites work? I've never heard about it! I can only speak portuguese and english fluently, but I know a bit of spanish too!
I will e mail you now some low or no cost volunteer/work sites plus the website of the social network for language learners and language teachers, as well as teaching Portuguese and English face to face you can also give classes online if you are qualified, volunteerism allows you to gain the trust of locals, best countries for teaching English/ Portuguese are China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Eastern Europe where wages are relatively high, Latin America is fun, but wages very low and unemployment for natives very high, if you are a certified teacher at home you are able to work in an International School, find a country or countries and visit in person, never sign any contracts 'online' and make sure the school or institution will assist you to obtain PROPER VISA OR WORK PERMIT AND HEALTH INSURANCE, MINIMUM. Don't be exploited or deported working for low wages with no health coverage!!!!!!!!! Tchau
