you can smoke anywhere you want to in Thailand.. and you have 7x11 stores in every street in Thailand where u can buy them... L&M and Marlboro are the most common ones available...

Are they expensive do you know?
Also do you know if those shops are also on the Islands? or just on mainland?

There are some places where you can not smoke but in general you shouldn't have a problem.
Cheap bars I go to always have ashtrays which I use for peanut shells..
Some hotels have no smoking rooms.
I don't smoke but I think L&M is under 60 baht. There are some cheaper brands too. Lots of Seven Eleven type stores available.
They do hide the cigarettes behind a door or panel. Thailand is trying to keep kids from getting that habit.
Indoors, smoking is restricted.
If you walk the streets, fag in hand, make sure you toss the butt into a proper trash receptacle. The cops are getting rich hitting up tourists for littering fines, 2,000 baht a pop!

Restrictive smoking inside is just like england anyway so thats all good. i'll be careful!!
I think there is not such issue in Thailand. You can smoke any where. Yes, there is some places where smoking is prohibited. I been to Thailand and found not such issue there. You don't need to worry at all.
yea.. everyone was smoking everywhere in thailand... i even saw people throwing ciggs butts on the road and no one saying anything...
not sure abt the L&M prices.. Marlboro packs cost 78 baht... and they are available everywhere - mainland and inlands...
I live in Thailand and most restaurants, other than real dives, restrict smoking. Most hotels, unless real dives, restrict smoking. Smoking restrictions are law.
OUTSIDE most areas are OK.

It sounds a lot like England not being allowed to smoke indoors etc, which is absolutely fine.
