International Student Volunteers (ISV)

My daughter has just been accepted to go on a school related trip to Thailand with this organization..Any one done it and how much fun did you have?

Thanks for the move

I traveled with ISV during the Summer of 2004 to New Zealand and Fiji and I had a blast. We were on a conservation project and I honestly never thought I would have so much fun planting trees and building trails. The adventure tour was more than I could have ever imagined. We went white water rafting, black water rafting, horse back riding, hiking, sky diving (optional), kayaking, etc. After a month of traveling around New Zealand we went to Fiji which was breathtaking. The whole experience from day one was amazing. I hope your daughter is able to travel to Thailand. She will have the time of her life and she will make lifetime friends.

I traveled with ISV in the summer of 2005 to the Dominican Republic and I had an AMAZING experience!!! The trip really opened up my eyes, I was working in a village helping the children, teaching them english, playing games with them and also built homes for families in the village that came from nothing. IT was definitely one of the best trips that I have ever been on. The friends I made that traveled with me and the people's lives that i helped change are something that are always gonna stay with me. Oh and the adventure was one of the funnest times that i've had before. You get to do everything from surfing, white water rafting, hiking up and down canyons, windsurfing, caving all within a 2 week period, just a great time. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.

I traveled with ISV for the first time during the summer of 2005 to Costa Rica. I had such incredible experience that I traveled again in 2007 to Ecuador. In Costa Rica I worked on a community development project (painting the local high school, teaching English and making vegetable gardens) and stayed with a home stay family; it was awesome! In Ecuador I was on conservation project (planting trees, teaching local kids about conservation, and building trails) and stayed in the middle of a cloud forest; an experience I will never forget. I met some amazing people and got to partake in an unbelievable adventure tour: which including waterfall rappelling, zip-lining, white water rafting and my favorite glacier hiking. Your daughter should go to Thailand or any one of the countries offered; she will have a blast!
