Hey, trying to apply for my WHV for OZ through the immigation website http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-holiday. But its down, anyonelse having this trouble and do you know anywherelse I can apply? Cheers

Someone on this forum linked the following page last week, which I think is handy in knowing if there are service outages due to maintenance etc: http://www.immi.gov.au/e_visa/outage.htm
I remember when clicking on it last week (first time when I saw the link) there was mention re maintenance (I think it was for 16th November), but now it has a new outage scheduled in a few days time. Maybe that could explain why you couldn't get your application lodged.
Alternatively you may be able to get it done at a travel agent, although I'd imagine they're going to charge you an amount of money for the service. However, if they're lodging this online and there's a system outage, there may not be much that they can do either. I think.

Another quick question How long does it normally take to go through?
Mostly it's reported to take a couple of minutes, up to an hour or two. During peak times it might take a day, or up to a week if you get picked out for a random check of your details by an actual human.
Not sure re working holiday visa. Normal tourist visa, I got mine previously in matters of minutes. Possibly the most straight forward visa application I've ever dealt with (and I was well pleased by it).

Like the others have noted, it's usually really quick. Unless you have ticked one of the 'no no' boxes (have a criminal conviction, been in the army in the wrong country etc.), which puts it in the manual pile.
All is good Just checked on the website and its been granted! I was expecting an email so it probaly did go through after a few minutes lol next stop Sydney
