Should we move to Brighton?

So, me and two friends of mine are planning about moving to Brighton after we have finished school. Two of us have been in Brighton two years ago and we loved it! But since we were there only for two weeks and didn't really get to know the ordinary life in Brighton, we wanted to hear other peoples opinions about living and working in Brighton.
What are the pros and cons?
Feel free to suggest other places in England if you don't think Brighton is the right town for us (:

Brighton has a big gay scene. Also a drug scene. Being coastal, it also has it's share of elderly people who have retired there and out of works who prefer it to big cities.

A friend a decade ago went to live there. He used to live in Streatham, just down the road from Brixton (which has a poor reputation). After a few months in Brighton, he said for the first time in his life, he now carried a knife, for protection.

It does depend on your personal circumstances and what you want out of a location. Do you want bars and discos? Somewhere quiet? Coastal places like Brighton have few jobs compared to big cities, and they are already taken. Brighton may be a great place for 3 summer months but it can be miserable for 9 months of so-so to awful weather when the holiday makers have gone home.

A decade ago, I lived in Gillingham and that was good. As I said, it does however depend on what you want of a place.
